This ancient Hausa pottery vessel originates from Niger and was traditionally made by the Hausa people, renowned for their long-standing ceramic traditions. Such pots were used daily for storing water, grains or food, making them essential household objects.
Hand-shaped from local clay and fired using traditional methods, the pot bears the marks of time and use. Years of handling, exposure to heat and natural elements have created a rich, earthy patina. Irregularities and surface variations highlight its authenticity and human craftsmanship.
Today, this vessel is appreciated as a sculptural decorative object. It adds warmth, texture and historical depth to interiors inspired by wabi-sabi, minimalism or ethnic layering. Each piece is entirely unique.
