The story

This beautiful, contemporary basket was hand woven by women in rural Zimbabwe. The baskets are made from natural palm fibers 'Ilaha Palm' that are harvested locally, boiled and dried before weaving them into baskets.
For generations, the same traditional technique is used but the designs were often more sober and less functional. This basket combines traditional weaving techniques with modern design and makes every basket a real eye-catcher. We made a beautiful lamp of it. 

All these lamps are handmade so the shapes can be different from the photo.
