The Ladies Dress Neel 31 by Injiri beautifully reflects the brand’s philosophy of combining traditional textile craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Crafted from a refined blend of 50% silk and 50% cotton, this oversized dress feels exceptionally light, fluid and comfortable. Contrasting silk panels create subtle texture variations, while the hand-finished fagoting stitch details highlight the artisanal nature of the garment.
The dress features a delicate front placket with a single mother-of-pearl button, elegant pleated side panels and practical side pockets. Its relaxed oversized silhouette drapes beautifully and offers effortless comfort.
Like all Injiri creations, this piece is handmade by skilled artisans in India. Subtle variations in colour, texture and finish are part of the unique character of each garment.
STORY OF JOURNEYS
Injiri, meaning “real India”, historically stands for “real Madras checkered textiles” which were exported to West Africa back in the 18th century.
Injiri clothing is inspired by traditional garment designs of India. Working from her studio in Jaipur, Chinar Farooqui has developed a network of hand-loom collectives across India, from Gujarat to West Bengal who work with organic cottons and natural dyes to produce a range of exquisite handmade textiles to achieve textures and patterns that tells a story of the place they originate from – the story is finally told in form of a piece of “injiri”.
Neel is a collection developed with experiments with natural indigo over the years across various textile techniques such as Jamdani, clamp dye, extra weft.
