Founded with a vision to empower women in some of the most remote areas of Swaziland, Gone Rural has envolved into a handcraft company and design brand that uses creativity to ignite change on a community level. The Gogo Collection is handwoven from natural lutindzi grass. This grass is very tough and is not eaten by cattle. The rib is formed out of the grass without ever breaking the weave, representing the seamless passing of knowledge from generation to generation. " Gogo " or" Grandmother" Christina is the head of her family. She has been weaving since Gone Rural began 20 years ago. Her daughter Siphiwe and granddaughter Bonakele are weavers too. The baskets are a combination of tradition and innovation. We love them !
