This gourd basket is woven by Ndebele weavers from Zimbabwe, by using fibres of the palm tree. Mostly the youngest leaves are used for weaving these baskets. The soft leaves are cooked to bleach them and making them flexible. After that they are dried in the shade. Ready to weave!
