The ‘Flax Ottoman’ is a flax pouf which forms a part of the ‘Flax Project’ where Christien Meinderstma strives to make products with this locally produced material.
Her design for this tough pouf was inspired by rope making craft and searched for the source of the 16th century Dutch rope (= flax from Zeeland). The fibers are spun into yarn followed by being woven, platted and tied into a pouf.
The rope in total is 140 meters in length.
