When designing these sturdy lamps, Christien Meindertsma was inspired by the rope-making trade. She looked for the origins of 16th century dutch rope, being flax from Zeeland. The flax fibres are spun into yarn and then woven, braided and knotted into sturdy lamps. The Flax Five Light has 1 lamp. The rope is available in lengths of 5 or 10 meters.
