The Salampasu tribe lives in Congo and is known for its beautiful wooden masks that they use for rituals. Only the warriors may wear the masks. To join the warrior community, the boys must first be circumcised. This ritual takes place in a camp surrounded by these unique panels. They are all cut by hand from bamboo, and colored with natural pigments such as charcoal, lime, amber, etc ... These ritual panels have a modern-looking design and are very decorative. They are all objects that leave no one untouched. African art at its best.
